Above is a tree in our complex uprooted.
This is our town Green -
This is the calm after the storm.
We have power back after surviving five days with out. We managed pretty well and feel very blessed considering all the devastation and loss at our shore and the HUGE losses along the Jersey shore and the burroughs of NY. Staten Island is heart wrenching and Manhattan is overwhelmed with challenge. You all know the tragic details so I wont go on about it.
We took a ride down to our shoreline yesterday and after viewing houses destroyed and landscape torn apart we made our way to the waters edge of Long Island Sound about 15 miles from our home - and there we found a calm image of a storm passed with hope for recovery and some normalcy once again.
With hope for us all

Gail, it's amazing when you look at the devastation wreaked by this storm. Despite the fact that we're near the nj shore, we escaped with no damage.
Peace,
Muff
Good to hear you survived the storm well eventhough you lost power. You will have stories to tell about the storm and power outage.
Tremendous damage done by this storm. Praying for the victims and their families.
I send you hugs and smiles. I hope that you feel them always.
Love,
J.
@MUFFIE- I am so glad you made it through the storm unscathed- so glad you came by
@MARILYN-stories indeed :-)
@JACKIE-I do Jackie - I love your hugs and smiles and your kindness
Love to you all

Glad to hear your perspective, Gail. We lost power for 2-1/2 days--and that was enough. Actually, once I sorta' got into the rhythm, I think I could have tolerated a few more days--but it sure was nice to get a shower. We lost many, many trees, and I crushed my right pinky while helping my crew remove pieces of a 150-year-old oak; swollen, tender, and black-and-blue, but not broken (my finger, not the unfortunate oak).
HI SCOTT - glad to hear you are ok except for your badly bruised pinky finger :-(. ANd the old oak didn't make it :-( I think we are all lucky to have survived. Amen

It's just unbelievable the devastation that Mother Nature can bring down upon us. These past few years have been devastating for many. It really makes me wonder you know?
I am relieved that you are alright Gail. I have another blog friend from New Jersey that made it through alright as well but was without power for five days. I hope things start getting better soon. Love Di ♥
HI DI and thanks for all your kindness and friendship, prayers and support. And yes, I wonder too about the force of nature and what is in store. With hope for us all...

spite of everything.
HI TRACEY - Long Island Sound is so peaceful and about 10 miles or so from our home. And when we move we will be about a mile away form the Sound! So nice to see you, as always.
