Gail, we're getting the same thing down here. I don't expect to lose power, but it is cold. It'll be gone by the weekend -- temps return to the 60s. Yay!

HI MUFF - yes, we are promised a beautiful weekend as well, in the 60's by Sunday and sunny and calm. We just have to get beyond Athena!!

You have my wholehearted sympathies! - we're also in the midst of a snowstorm - I've already been out twice to shovel and it was quite a heavy load both times. It's coming down faster than we can keep up.
Stay dry and warm - I love that you have chicken noodle soup at the ready - it's the best :D

The pics look lovely - but I would need to be very close to that wood fire whilst enjoying the scenes.
@JANE - Hope you made it through the storm k. We ended up with about 8" of snow and it is still quite windy and cold today! I am impressed that you go out and shovel. :-)
@ANDY - I would set you right in front of our wood stove wrapped in a blanket and a nice glass of red-wine in your hand!

Oh my what a beautiful snow scene. I do hope you don't lose your power and can just sit and enjoy the view with a cup of tea in your hands. Thanks for sharing your tea story with your mom this morning on my blog.
Gail: Thanks for commenting on my images from the Mid-Atlantic on "It Just Comes Naturally." I thought I'd respond directly to you about our experience with Athena. For us, it was a non-event. We had snow flurries and squalls all day Wednesday and into the evening, but the wind never picked up (like the forecasters said it would). In the end, we got a crusty dusting of snow on the grass; everything on pavement had melted away by this morning (Thursday). Mind you, I'm not complaining...!
When I heard on the radio this morning that Wooster, Mass. had eight inches, my mind immediately jumped to you. I figured you had at least that much, and I was right.
Winter: go away! It's way too soon for this foolishness--especially in light of last week's misery!
HI SCOTT - so glad u all dodged Athena. It was fierce here last night but today all is calm. So glad you came by and shared.

HI MARILYN - we hung on to our power, thank goodness. It blew out last night and came back shortly there after. And I really enjoyed remembering AND sharing about having tea with my Mom. I miss her SO much. Tomorrow is her birthday.

HI DI - by the storms end it was like a Winter Wonderland with trees branches bowing with heavy snow and the landscape pure white - it was beautiful.
