Hallelujah

I heard this song on the telethon for Haiti. I have heard it before and was always moved by the tempo, the words, the thoughts that stirred in me. Perhaps it was the emotion I was feeling while listening to the song with a back drop of destruction and despair that amplified the mystery of the song. I can't get it out of my mind. I see myself in the song at different times, perhaps even moments in my life. I am the singer, the woman on the roof, one or the other of the two who are darkly intimate, and so forth. And so, as I take a bit of a hiatus from blogging I would SO appreciate you taking the time to listen to this haunting song and share, if you could, which of the characters or theme was you, is you, you wish were you, you hated was you.....................

I will post again once I/we have Gracey-Blue on a schedule. Phew. She is a beautiful handful. When she rests her trusting soft body on mine I am in heaven. Everything slows, and we feel only love and contentment.

I love everything Leonard Cohen writes and I thought J.T.'s interpretation was one of the most moving songs on the telethon.

Oh, yes, I've heard this many times, it's one of my favorites. I can't remember where I first heard it, but it was years ago, I guess on the radio, or MTV, or the kids had it playing, and I too felt that it was very haunting.
And then it was on a special CD tribute for Princess Diana, and then it was played on a special about Hurricane Katrina.
It's a very moving song. And it brings forth many emotions for me and I can see it does the same for you too.

Love to you,
Eileen

Oh, I forgot to say which I identify most with.

It's these lines:
"Your faith was strong but you needed proof..."
And:
"...it's not somebody who's seen the light, it's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah."

Love to you,
Eileen

Hi Lola-

Our Gracey-Blue is quite calm considering her young age - we are peaceful and calm here so she is settling in nicely

Hi Wanda-

I love K.D. Lang and I didn't know she sang this song too. I will go and search it on You Tube. ANd Gracey-Blue is wonderful. Coming along very well with all the do's, don'ts and where's :-)
