Come on in - take a look around.

The pictures above are of the new "back or extra" room now a wonderful peaceful reading and music room.  The view is the best from any where in the house.  The chairs are wicker. - enlarge to hopefully see the colors better.  The ladder leads up to a sleep loft we had built for Dolan when this was his room.  I also have our Wll in here for my exercise and balance program and we play golf and tennis and bowling and other fun games together.  :-)  This is our escape room.  I love reading n here in the corner and looking out to the woods.  It is SO peaceful.

The above pictures are all of our gorgeous bedroom, with the tree house - tropical Island hut theme.  Enlarge for better view, especially the picture over our bed which I took of the last time me, and my Mom and Sis were all at Chatfield Hollow together gathering greens for the graves.   The last one above is of the peak which is a gold glitter swirl and just above my computer table.  And on our bed?  That is "Berringer" our bear cub.  He is the actual size of a bear cub and is so soft and cuddly - great to lean on to read  or snuggle with on a Winter's day.  :-)

And this last one is of our very lush garden.  It has filled in so thick and beautiful.  :-)  We are so blessed.

And to think of all that I have lived, all we both have lived and survived - and to find one another amidst all the possibilities and circumstance. I believe, I know "I Was On My Way To Him and Him To Me - all part of a greater plan.  Hallelujah!!!

Hi Gail, I adore your music and reading room. I wish I could see where that ladder went to?

Your bedroom is a paradise. I can see all the love you put into your home. Love the bear cub, your four poster bed and all of the plants. It is very soothing and relaxing.

I also love how you knew you and Skip would find one another. Love is so wonderful especially when you find the one you have been waiting for.

Happy 4th of July. Stay cool and y'all have a fablous day.

The reading room looks so iniviting and a wonderful place to read! So nice of you to share your world.
Happy July 4th!

HI CHOICES-ANNE -
SO nice to have you visit our home via blog-land. :-) ANd yes, the back room is so welcoming and so 'out of the way' - the perfect place to read, or sit quietly. Come by any time and 'set-a-spell' :-)

HI PAM - so nice to see you here at our home. :-) The ladder leads up to a sleep loft. We had it built when Dolan (my son) was in junior high school. It is all lined and quilted and padded and has a plush rug too - we had electrical outlets wired in the loft as well for a lamp and his radio. So it is like 2 rooms, a work/play/sitting area below and the sleep loft above. Our grandson loves to sleep in the loft and Dolan still enjoys going up there when he comes home.
ANd or bedroom is like an Island paradise now - we love the 'feel'. And oh yes Pam, we BOTH know that we each paid our dues to finally find one another. :-)
Love to you

It all looks lovely, Gail although I don't think I could have so many plants in the bedroom ;-)

Anyway, I'm not good with plants!

Enjoy it all.

Gail, nice reading room! Which direction does it face? I've got a similar room in my house, but it gets so hot, even though it's mostly shaded by big trees and thermal blinds to keep out the sun whe it's at its highest.

Gail said...

Hi ANdy - so nice to have you visit. The big plant-tree is almost 30 years old and the one in front of the slider is 20 year sold - so we do quite well with plants and they are so good to have because they clean the air. :-) Besides they look natural and I like that.

Hi Scott - the 'reading/music room faces North - and it is very shady and cool, just a nice natural light with not alot of direct sun - perfect setting and the view is truly the best in the house. So glad yo see you here.

Hey girl, I recently decided to resume blogging at Soul Dose, I also opened a blogger account and I'll see which one to use, I have difficulty using the computer and whichever allows easy posting via phone will be Neo: The Chosen One. I'll give Sou Dose a makeover in the meantime...... I was surprised you found my 1 line update, you truly are a friend to keep.

These pictures are Beautiful, that relaxation room relaxes me all the way here I tell you, sitting there on a hot summer day with a tall glass of cold juice, a book in hand and no one in sight, now that is something worth visiting you for, if only I could.

Your home looks great, so inviting, and so peaceful, and so "home". It was nice to be invited in! I love the colors and I'm sure it must feel so gratifying to enjoy the fruits of your labors. You and Skipp did a wonderful job of making your home a reflection of your spirit.

We're busy here doing a few projects too, I'm anxious for it all to be done, but progress is slow. In this old house a simple project becomes a major one. What should take one or two steps ends up a major over-haul. My poor husband! Set-backs at every turn. Oh well.
You've given me inspiration!

Enjoy!
Love to you, Eileen

Gail said...

HI EILEEN - so good to have you come by. We live pretty close actually. Perhaps one day you can visit for real :-) I love all your kind words about our home and I am sure all your projects will get done, in time.....phew.

It's nice that you have a peaceful music and reading room, that's something we have in common, Gail. I call mine my Quiet Room. The picture hanging over the two blue wicker chairs is lovely. I love the natural theme, plants, trees and stuffed animals...you won't believe this Gail...but I have a giant bear downstairs in a chair, the grandkids loved it when they were little. There's a few extra bears around here and there too, one is dressed for a garden party and one in red corduroy overalls!

Your home and garden are lovely, Gail...it reflects your happiness!

Gail said...

HI WANDA - I am so happy you came by. ANd thansk you for all your kind words about our new look and feel. I so enjoy our natural bedroom and the welcoming and peaceful feel in the back room is like going on vacation to rest. :-) And that is so cool that you have a bear too. I love sitting with Berringer - he is safe and warm and listens really well. :-)
Hope everyone is on the mend in your world. Email if you get a moment.

Wow! Just a wonderful job—and I know a huge amount of work. But worth it. That is one amazing stuffed bear on the bed. Even before reading your comments, I recognized the pine woods in the photo over the headboard from your posts of that gathering day; it turned out quite lovely. I like your "new" room, too. If it were mine, I'd have floor-to-ceiling books on one wall…and that, the view of the greenery out back, a comfortable seat in the wicker chair, a cup of hot tea, and I might not come out for hours—maybe days. What a neat place that will be come winter.

You guys did a really fine job.

Gail said...

HI GRIZZ - so happy you had spme time to come by for that glass of ho,emde;emonade and take a look around the place. ANd ya, that vack reding/music room is so inviting. And the books? There is a huge antique book shelf on one wall right in the hall way just 6 inches from the door way to the room. Filled with books. :-) And in Winter? The view from that window is spectacular. So good to see you my friend.
