Eyes, the color of blueberries

When Adam first described Alaura's eyes as the color of blueberries I was taken back - delightfully so....and then I looked closely - and it is true - her eyes are the color of blueberries -

I can't quite figure out how to type above or below a picture. Hmmmm - well, these are all of Alaura and her opening her gifts from us. etc. Also, we went to dinner at Skipp's restaurant - and Jen and Jo'el met us there - we had a delicious meal and a really fun time. :-) That is a picture of Skipp with the two grand kids.

It has been a wonderful time for all of us - this chapter is written now - it is a good chapter filled with all good things for her to have, forever. They leave in the morning for Virginia to spend Christmas with Adam's Mom and Step Dad.

And now, some moments for us to reflect and give thanks for this gift of time with Adam and Alaura - the ability to share our home, our love, our life of peace and hope, understanding and fun. :-)

we will spend some time straightening out the house, cleaning up the bathrooms and a quick vacuum - and then have some quiet time with a glass of wine and a nice fire in our wood stove later - a simple meal and a good nights sleep. So very much to feel good about - so very much to believe in -

and please remember prayers for my Mom - as we continue on now with some more tests and medication additions and adjustments. Life has offered us so much this week - every emotion is alive.

Hey…I returned! :-)

I bet you had a fine time. Kids make the holidays.

FYI, on that typing below a certain photo…

…you have to either type all your text first, then load the photos (in reverse order, bottom one first, top one last) and when the photos are all up, copy and paste the sections of text you want under each photo…

…or, load all the photos first (still in reverse order) and just type your text between them as you write your post.

I use the first method, usually, unless I'm just writing what amounts to long captions under each photo; then I use the other technique.

Katie is waiting for the computer right now but I will email you tomorrow about how I do my photos.

Your tree and early celebration with Alaura are beautiful Gail, I see Alaura's pretty blue eyes probably come from you. I love the last photo of her, there's something special about little girls and messy hair(I mean that in a complimentary way). One of my favorite photos of my g/daughter Amanda was with her hair very messy!
Glad you are enjoying a fire, I remember that large stack of firewood you have! We haven't used any of ours yet, but it's suppose to get coler Thursday, maybe then!

Enjoy the cold days by your fire Gail, it makes warm memories!
Love,
Wanda

Love the title of this post! How sweet!
And three has to be just about the best age! I'm glad she was able to spend time with you, such a Blessing for you all.

And your unwinding time sounds Heavenly too!

I will keep your Mom and your family in my prayers. You hit the nail on the head when you said it's such a mixture of emotions for you at this time.
It's like we have these little compartments for joy, sadness, despair, desperation, uncertainty, happiness, fulfillment, and then there are times in our lives when the compartments break open and spill out into one puddle, sometimes you don't know how to feel at any given moment. I remember when my Mom was far gone with the Alzheimer's, on her way out of our lives and Jayden was just entering. It was a strange time emotionally, it was a year of 'the roller coaster of emotion'.

Lots of love to you, Gail ~
Eileen

@EILEEN
You are so right about how the emotions sometimes spill into a puddle and take over. And your example of Jayden arriving and your Mom going really helped me to understand what I am feeling. You are amazing Eileen.

@WANDA-
Oh my I so understand the beauty of the messy hair. She just woke pp and was all new and smelled like innocent sleep.
They are on the road now, heading South. And we will enjoy our wine and fire after we get back from the store. Thank you so much for all you do and say to make our Village so safe and loving and interesting.

@TATTYTIARA-

@CINNER
thank you so much for the prayers for my Mom.

I am a bit tired from all the extra activity these past few days but I am fine., My husband just said he will do the shopping that way I can stay home and take my time showering and doing my hair and just catching up with myself. He is a gem - he cleaned the bathrooms and vacuumed too. Amazing. I made us breakfast and cleaned the kitchen. It's all good.

@ANUPAMA
thank you so much for your kind words about Alaura and also for all the well-wishes. I will stop by to see you soon.

Alaura, is such a beautiful sounding name. And Alaura is most certainly reflective of her name, blueberry colored eyes and sweetness complete. The photos are indeed a joy. Happy for the love filled time shared.
