OUR FIRST THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS IN OUR COZY BUNGALOW IN CLINTON - "ACT THREE"

I haven't posted in a while, I know.  I feel my blog has run its course, is coming to an end. Seems many readers have dropped off and fewer and fewer leave a comment. I understand.

It is time for new traditions, memories to be created, while still honoring some of our old and comforting traditions and recipes and family keepsakes.  I miss my Mom a lot! last year we were so busy with the huge move that the chaos distracted the loss. This year? I feel ever emotion of loss and also every memory of what was AND her love is every where, eternal within, ingrained and alive. Such a gift!!

":ACT THREE" IS TAKING CENTER STAGE.  :-)  I may re-name or start a new blog titled "ACT THREE".  I am thinking about it.

Here are some pictures..

Thanksgiving bounty, so many blessings

Our festive bungalow decorated for Christmas.  Warm and cozy.

And so the Season is here. A time of hope and promise to sustain us throughout the year. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas season filled with the love of family and friends and blessings.

Oh, everything looks so beautiful, Gail!! You're waaaaay ahead of me -- I'm just starting the Christmas decorations. Of course you're going to miss your mom. Grieving is a process, and you just can't ignore its various components. Try to remember all the good and happy times you had together. Know that she's still with you in your heart. Be at peace during this season. And please don't worry about losing readers. Just do what brings you joy!

Gail, your cottage looks beautiful. Sorry I haven't been too faithful a commenter recently but, well, life has happened. Act Three sounds like a wonderful title for a blog.

Wishing you peace and solace.

Your home is so beautiful for the holidays - I am quite envious! If I lived on my own, I would decorate similar to the ways that you have, but since I don't, I enjoy what is up!

I hope that you continue posting ... in this Act Three of your life and story. And if you would like any help designing a new blog, let me know - I'd love to! (I've designed and "decorated" my blog from the beginning!)

Wishing you an incredibly wonderful holiday season, and hoping that you have time to feel and work through the emotions that arrive.

Sending you a lot of love :)

HI AMANDA - and "thank you" for your heartfelt Christmas season wishes. SO glad you like our decor. It is very cozy here. And I would LOVE for you to help me design a new blog for "ACT THREE". I am not so good at that. We will chat after the first of the year.k?
Love to you

Gail: Your Christmas decorations bring mack memories of growing up. My family's house was always decorated like yours. (My wife and I do minimal decorating; we just seem to be too busy with other things, especially because the holidays come right at the end of the fall semester so my wife is always running around like crazy trying to get grading done and grades posted.) Thanks for sharing, and good luck with whatever decision you make about blogging.

Gail, the photos are great. The decorations so lovely.

Indeed, this is Act Three - but you can make it as wonderful as you wish and I'm sure you will.

Not forgetting things like your Mum, you can look forward to some lovely times together - and that's the most important thing.

May you both have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy (and healthy) New Year!
